Task:
1. Write an introductory paragraph about “Primary Education in your country”
2. It should not take more that 50 words to complete

Objectives:
1. To enable students designing a (limited) academic essay of English
2. To demonstrate the ability to express ideas in logical order
3. To practice the use of vocabulary and grammar in context
4. To familiarize the structure of academic essay of English

Steps:
1. You should read the instruction carefully.

DA Final Project Speaking and Writing Skills

To assist you with your future assignment as Defence Attache in your targeting country we will conduct final presentation as part of your final project of Speaking Skills and write the presentation narration as part of the final project of Writing Skills.

Project

  1. Conducting an individual formal presentation about your assignment as the newly appointed DA in the targeting country. (Speaking Skills)
  2. Writing the narration of your formal presentation. (Writing Skills)

Setting

  1. You are in your targeting countries and perform you job as the newly appointed Indonesian Defence Attache.
  2. You are required to present yourself, your proposed projects based on the M.O.U or the previous conducts of the two nations for the current financial year onwards.
  3. Some data about the projects might be needed to specify your intention.

Technicality

  1. Prepare a 10 minute presentation and a 5 min Q&A as part of Speaking Skills Project.
  2. The presentation will be displayed in a 5 – 7 slides of powerpoint presentation (to be prepared ONLY).
  3. The presentation will be done individually in front of Pusdiklat’s officials on Mon & Tues, 16 & 17 March 2009.
  4. Narration of your presentation SHOULD BE SUBMITTED using ONLINE POSTING onto this wordpress NLT Friday, 13 March 2009.
  5. Please use comment button to upload your narration.
  6. Please put your Rank, Name, and Class on the top left corner of the file.
  7. The narration is your Writing Final project for COL Ketut Winaya.

The Making of MOU (DA Class)

YTH Bapak-bapak DA,
Introduction
Pada discourse ketiga kali ini, saya mengharapkan para DA untuk dapat menyusun konsep Memorandum Of Understanding (MOU) dengan Negara dimana bapak-bapak akan ditempatkan. MOU ini merupakan kelanjutan dari materi Negotiating Language dimana para DA telah melaksanakan presentasi perihal Defence Cooperation Program (DCP) yang akan dilaksanakan oleh kedua belah pihak.

Setting
Negara Indonesia (dhi) diwakili para DA telah menyetujui proposal para DA yang telah dipresentasikan kepada targeting countries. Dilain pihak targeting countries juga telah setuju untuk menerima DCP yang ditawarkan oleh DA.

Tujuan
1. Memberikan gambaran perihal format MOU
2. Membiasakan DA dengan penggunaan jargon-jargon dalam MOU
3. Mempresentasikan MOU sesuai dengan kesepakatan kedua belah pihak.

Proses
1. Mohon membuat narasi MOU
2. Mengumpulkan naskah MOU melalui Blog ini

Follow Up
1. DA mempresentasikan materi MOU
2. Memberikan tanggapan dari MOU yang dipresentasikan
3. Presentasi dalam dua bentuk; format MOU dan Powerpoint Presentation
4. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan di kelas.

Negotiating Language (DA)

Dear Sirs,
The second week program which is focusing on the Negotiating Language, we would like you to post your thoughts in the format of Powerpoint presentation and the narration. Based on the preferred topic of discussion you have researched please send your Powerpoint presentation (plain) onto my email: roisnahrudin@yahoo.com

Project

Students are researching references for one of the following issues:
1. The offer for military education and training programs
2. Negotiating to get additional quotas for particular programs such as courses, trainings, SMEE
3. Asking for clarification for particular cases/incidents and seek for negotiation.

Stages

1. Students conduct a research trough offline and online resources for their preferred issue
2. Students make outline for the narration (not more than 150 words) and powerpoint presentation
3. Students post their work via the given media; email and webblog
4. Students will conduct a presentation in the class for max 7 minutes.

Objectives

1. Students will learn from their peer new expressions for negotiation
2. Students will learn the flexibility and the level of closeness in using English Expression
3. Students will learn to present data and facts to support their ideas
4. Students will be demonstrating their capability in negotiating
